Quelles sont les différents types d'hyperpigmentation?

Hyperpigmentation is a skin condition that appears as dark spots that give the skin an uneven appearance. Hyperpigmentation is also central to skin conditions such as melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. These marks affect darker skin more than lighter skin because skin pigmentation is generally stronger in darker skin.

 Les taches de vieillesse

These are common on the face. Age spots are caused by exposure to the sun. This explains why they appear on frequently exposed parts of the body. For this reason, they can be found on the face, neck, décolleté, hands and arms. They take the form of small patches of skin that are darker than the color of the skin.

Melasma

Here the hyperpigmentation is induced by hormonal changes. It is a dermatological condition that causes an increase in skin pigmentation due to an increase in the amount of melanin contained. It is common to see it during pregnancy. Although it affects men, melasma is more common in women.

Post-inflammatory

Hyperpigmentation can occur after a skin injury. It occurs when a weakened area of skin remains exposed to the sun even though the repair process is not fully complete. Melanin is produced in excess by the body to protect the damaged skin. Indeed, UV rays are perceived as an aggression by the body. Melanin is stored in the weakened area. It starts to form a hyperpigmentation spot with irregular contours.
